Questions

Before you book

The questions people ask us most about the call. If yours isn't here, bring it along.

Still wondering? Ask us on the call.

What happens on the call?

We talk about your business, what's working and what isn't, and what you want the website or software to do. If we're a good fit, you get a fixed price. If we're not, we'll tell you, and you still leave knowing what to fix first. It takes half an hour.

What if I'm not sure I need a new website yet?

Then we'll tell you. We would rather do that than take your money.

How much does it cost?

Honestly, we can't give you a real number until we know what you need, because a five page website and an ordering system with a kitchen screen are completely different builds. So we start with one call, and after that you get a fixed price in writing. Not hourly, and not an estimate that grows as we go. If you want a feel for it first, the budget question at the top of this page shows the ranges we work in.

I've been burned by a web agency before. Why would this be any different?

It sounds like you paid for something, waited longer than you were told, and then had to chase someone to get your own site back. Honestly, that's the most common story we hear, and in your position we'd be wary of us too. So instead of asking you to trust us, everything is set up so you don't have to. Your website, code and domain sit in your own accounts from day one. And while we're building, if we go quiet on you for 5 continuous business days without prior notice from us, you keep everything and you owe us nothing. It's in the contract. What would need to be true for you to feel safe trying again?

Do I need to be technical?

No. You know your business and we know the technical side. We explain everything in plain English, and if we can't explain something simply, that's on us to fix.

Do you work with businesses like mine?

If you already have customers or members, and something in your week is being done by hand, there's a good chance we can help. We work with trades, food businesses, clinics, churches, schools, charities and offices. Everything happens over video call, so where you are doesn't change anything.

We need to get a few quotes first.

Please do, it's the right thing to do. When you compare, ask each one who will own the domain and the code, and what happens if they go quiet or deliver late. Those answers will tell you more than the price does.
